SAKLIKENT CANYON
Saklikent gorge is a national park located 50 km from the city of Fethiye. Canyon, which is about 1000 meters high and through which the Yeshen River flows, is distinguished by its wild natural beauty. The national park consists of a canyon, which for its size has gained fame throughout the world. It is recognized as the longest and deepest canyon in Turkey and the second largest canyon in Europe. Its length is 18 kilometers, and the height in different parts reaches up to 1000 meters. Throughout its path, it has steep, bewitching cliffs of natural beauty, several picturesque waterfalls and 16 caves.
TLOS
Tlos is an ancient Lycian city located 35km from Fethiye, in the valley of the Xanthos River. The first mention of the city is found in the Hittite chronicles of the 14th century BC. The Greek historian and geographer Strabo mentions Tlos in his works as one of the six most important cities of the Lycian Union. It was called the most brilliant metropolis of the Lycian Union, the city was the sports and military center of the Federation. Throughout the history of its existence, Tlos belonged to different empires. Even in today’s ruins of ancient Tlos, traces of the Lycian, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman empires can be traced. In the city there were a variety of structures and buildings left over from different cultures and civilizations. At the top of the acropolis are the remains of a Turkish fortress. Below the acropolis are the Lycian tombs carved into the rock and the Tomb of Amyntas in Fethiye, stone sarcophagi and the Tomb of Bellerophon, it is considered the largest and most beautiful in Tlos. The ancient city is famous for the ruins of a Byzantine basilica and a large stadium, agora and baths, as well as a theater that was built in the 2nd century BC.
YAKAPARK TROUT FARM
Yakapark tout farm is very popular with tourists and locals. At the entrance there are souvenir shops and signs with different cities, countries of the world. Yakapark is a traditional Turkish restaurant. It is located in the mountains, among a picturesque park with fountains, swings, sculptures. There is a fish farm nearby, so you can order delicious grilled fish. In special reservoirs, trout is grown, which you can touch with your hands.
GIZLIKENT WATERFALL
Gizlikent Waterfall, which has become a very popular tourist destination in recent years, is a genuine hidden paradise. It is a natural wonder that is 2 km away from Saklıkent canyon and is worth seeing with its dazzling view. Here you can go down to the waterfall, fly over the zipline, buy souvenirs. The waterfall is located at the bottom of the gorge. To reach it, takes walk 300 meters (about 15 minutes) along the riverbed. At the bottom of the gorge you feel like in an uncharted green jungle.
